Wow.
Who would have imagined all of the snow that we’ve received so far here in Arkansas? With the temperatures consistently hovering around freezing, I haven’t been able to get out as much as I would like – well, that and an increasingly busy day job.
Since I’ve basically been in photographic hibernation (shame on me), I’ve been reading business books and trying to develop a more professional business model. Even though I do this photography more out of passion for art than money, it is still a business that allows me to progress and continue this craft.
Over the next month, I hope to be changing a few things with the business. For one, I want and need to have a more professional approach when setting dates and fulfilling the needs of my clients. I am also looking to institute practices that will allow me to take advantage of further photographic opportunities.
Model releases, contracts and other forms will be apart of this to not only help my book keeping, but to help my clients and myself understand exactly what is involved in our agreements.
I realize this is a much more serious post than I normally have; however, I know that this will greatly benefit all of us as we form a photographic relationship.
I’m looking forward to the spring months and hope to have more pictures than words in future posts.
Thanks to everyone who make this business possible.
